Ask HN: Any experiences flying with a 2015 MacBook Pro after the FAA warning?

I am using a 2015 15-inch MBP for a project and really need to bring it with me on a trip soon. But the FAA recently put out a warning/ban on these due to a battery recall, and some airlines are banning them from planes in various configurations.[1]

According to every news source, the only devices covered by the FAA order are serial numbers eligible for recall per Apple's support page. And the device I have at home isn't one of those. But... I really don't trust the TSA to be willing to type the serial number into a support page to verify that at the airport. It seems more likely that they'd just see the laptop and turn me away at security, which would be an expensive mess.

So, has anyone successfully flown with one of these that has a non-recalled serial number?
