Is Hacker News downranking protest content?

I've seen quite a few highly upvoted pieces of content over the last few days vanish off the front page much faster than posts usually would. Like most of the time, popular posts tend stay near the top of the frontpage (or at least on the frontpage) for a matter of hours, or in the cases of the most popular content, up to a day. It seems content even tangentially related to the protests, e.g. posts with political valence like this one, https://ift.tt/3eI6iPr, leave the frontpage within a few hours.

Is yc attempting to limit the amount of political discussion?
