Ask HN: Resources on learning how to build a web server framework?

I am learning Rust at the moment, and it's my first deeper dive into systems programming. I am using warp (https://ift.tt/2M1lfSk) and I wondered: How do you start to learn what has to be in a web framework and how do you approach this? Where do people learn these skills? By copying other frameworks and re-writing them into their language of choice? I don't want to be able to build a produciton-ready framework on the spot, but I would love to know a resource on what to include and watch out for.
