I'm looking to move away from online services for some projects, and I was wondering what the HN community uses as alternatives for some tools. I'm obviously willing to compromise on quality.
The ones my team uses daily is (with some alternatives I know):
- Google docs - the main importance is easiness of use and real-time collaboration. I know of Etherpad, CodiMD and the like. If collaborating with remote, end-to-end encryption will be needed. - Video chat with remote people - I know of jit.si. - Git - I know Keybase's encrypted git, and you can always install GitLab locally. - LaTeX - this is maybe an odd one, since we just git the tex docs, but if there's a good tool for that, I'd be happy. - Google drive - for sharing files end-to-end encrypted. Keybase works for that.
What is the dream bundle?
