I have less than 80GB of data (mainly documents, photos and code) that I would like to backup. My current strategy is rsync + WD elements external hard drive (1TB) + 1 cheap usb stick. Public photos and code are also in the cloud. So far, so good.
I know that using NAS would be the perfect backup strategy, but honestly I think it's a bit overkill for my needs. In any case, I would like to rely on local storage (instead of cloud) to improve my current situation. I was thinking about buying an additional hard drive (Western Digital 1TB WD Blue Mobile Hard Drive HDD - 5400 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 128 MB Cache, 3.5") to use it as an "offline" storage device (since my main external drive is always next to my laptop, though not always plugged in). I would need a suitable enclosure (e.g., Hard Drive Enclosure, RSHTECH USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Docking Station for 3.5 inch SATA I/II/III HDD).
What do you think?
